Welcome, Bievenue and Akwabaa
My name is Amma Gyamfowa, a Ghanaian-Canadian mental health therapist, registered social worker, community researcher, writer, and international speaker. With a decade of experience in social work, my expertise lies in supporting and counselling Black and racialized communities as well as survivors of gender-based violence.
My approach to supporting Black mental health is unique, utilizing powerful culturally affirming analogies and resources. I am dedicated to creating accessible wellness tools for diverse African, Caribbean, and Black communities in Canada, Ghana, and across the diaspora.
As a highly sought-after international speaker, I've had the privilege of being featured on media platforms such as CBC's Metro Morning, Ontario Morning, She Leads Africa, Fresh Air Radio, and the Toronto Star.
In my role as Founder and Lead Clinical Therapist of Womanist Healing, my mission is to create empowering holistic resources that strengthen individuals and communities' ability to heal, thrive, and connect.
With gratitude,
Amma Gyamfowa
